This is very quick and easy capelet for kids.
The pattern stitch here is from the repeats of only 4 rounds; 2 rounds with garter stitches to create horizontal stripes and 2 rounds with stockinette stitches plus some slip stitches to create checkered squares.
The pattern looks a little more complicated than it says, because we are going to switch three colors every 2 rows in order, independently to the pattern stitches. You will see the same color/texture combination only every 12 rows.
I named this “Little Bee” because of my color choice, but I hope you all have fun to pick your favorite color combinations!
PDF file will be available at Ravelry shortly.
Next, start pattern sts with decrease round as foll (AT THE SAME TIME, change the color every 2 rnds starting from MC, CC1, then CC2);
Note: After pm, pattern sts repeat will be disrupted by markers during most of dec rnds (depend on sts numbers). In the cases, just stop patt sts before each markers, and restart the repeat (k1, [slp2, k2]) after each markers (you can also see more detailed explaination and example in comment section).
Rnd 1: change to new color, *k1, [slp2, k2] to marker* rep * 5 more times.
Rnd 2: *K1, [slp2, k2] to marker* rep * 5 more times.
Rnd 3: Change to new color, k all sts.
Rnd 4: [p to last 2 sts before marker, p2tog] total 6 times.
